DeepSeek Reported to Close a 100 Billion Yuan Round

DeepSeek is reported to have closed a funding round of about 100 billion yuan, with CATL and Tencent among the participants, in what would be the largest single round for a Chinese AI company. The report emerged on Wednesday, 4 November and has not been confirmed by the company or by any investor. If it holds, the deal would link battery manufacturing, energy, compute and model development inside one domestic chain, which is a different proposition from a standalone model lab.
