Meta Buys Conductor, a Parallel Coding Agent Startup
Meta confirmed on 5 November that it has acquired Conductor, a startup building parallel AI coding agents, without disclosing terms, and the acquired product’s hosted service is scheduled to close on 20 November. That combination — no price, no product, a closing date — reads as an acqui-hire aimed at the orchestration layer rather than at a shipping business. The unresolved problem is review: parallel agents generate merged output faster than a human team can read it, and buying the team does not answer who is accountable for it.
