Anthropic Lets Claude Read Your Bank Accounts

Anthropic launched a personal finance test on 5 November for US users on paid tiers, connecting bank and card accounts read-only through Plaid so Claude can answer questions about balances, transactions, spending categories and upcoming bills, and flag duplicate charges. It cannot transfer money or invest, conversations are not used for training, and the product carries no financial recommendations or ads. The constraint is the offer: an assistant enters a high-trust, high-regulation category by refusing to act.
