Perplexity Says Its Agent Beat a Human Ad Account by 63%
Perplexity published a case on 4 November in which its Computer agent ran $30,000 of Meta advertising for the seafood retailer Get Maine Lobster over seven days, producing 3.5 times the revenue on 2.1 times the spend, a 63% higher return on ad spend and a 14% lower cost per new customer. Two details narrow the claim: the spend was funded by Perplexity itself, and the founder approved every ad in Slack, with his approval rate rising from 20% to 90%. A vendor-funded week with a human gate on each creative measures the agent’s output, not yet whether a business would pay for it.
