XPeng Model Claims Grounding Scores Above Astra
XPeng, Peking University and the University of Hong Kong released GroundingPI, a pretrained perception model, on Wednesday, 4 November, claiming grounding benchmark scores above GPT-6 Astra. The result comes from the group’s own evaluation and has not been independently reproduced. Grounding matters to driving because linking a spoken instruction to the right object in a scene is the first half of acting on it; closed-loop driving results would be the second.
