Kimi K3.1 Pro Opens at 2.8 Trillion Parameters
Moonshot released Kimi K3.1 Pro as open weights on 5 November, with 2.8 trillion total parameters in a mixture-of-experts design, about 104 billion active per token and a context window near 1.04 million tokens, published to Hugging Face with same-day vLLM support. Tencent’s Hunyuan Hy4 shipped in the same window and is charted separately. At this size the competition moves to hosting price rather than capability: the weights are free, and the invoice arrives as inference.
