Twenty Chinese Groups Publish a Voluntary Agent Convention
Twenty organisations led by CAICT, the research institute under China’s industry ministry, published a voluntary AI agent development convention at the Wuzhen summit on 4 November, with Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent and Xiaomi among the founding signatories. The document lists eight commitments spanning trust systems, interconnection, interoperability, security defence, governance, user protection, industry integration and inclusive access. It is an industry baseline rather than regulation, which is precisely why standards bodies and procurement teams will be able to point at it later.
