AI and Chip Stocks Sell Off as the Nasdaq Falls About 5%
US AI and semiconductor shares sold off on 5 November, with the Nasdaq down about 5% and the S&P 500 off more than 3%, as Nvidia, Micron, AMD, Qualcomm and Dell led the decline. Reports attributed the move to post-election policy uncertainty and to data-centre exposure ahead of earnings on 17 November. It reverses the previous session, when Nvidia had reclaimed a $5 trillion valuation on a 3% gain, which makes this a repricing of the story rather than of any quarter’s results.
