Anthropic Says Its Models Are Close to Recursive Improvement
Anthropic said in a safety disclosure on Wednesday, 4 November that its models are “very close” to recursive self-improvement, the capacity to improve themselves without human input. The company is preparing a Nasdaq listing at the same time, and reporting suggests it may receive a high-yield rating at sub-investment grade. One of those two facts will cost more than the other: if regulators accept the RSI framing, frontier pre-training review tightens; if bond investors price it, the compute bill becomes junk-rated risk.
