Anthropic Open-Sources a 17-Second Model ID Check

Anthropic open-sourced FlashProve on Wednesday, 4 November, a tool it says can identify which model is actually answering in about 17 seconds and detect repackaged models, roughly 5,000 times faster than existing methods. The practical target is API resale: an intermediary that wraps a frontier model and sells it under another name now has a much shorter window. The likely integrators are cloud providers and model platforms, both of which need a way to prove what a customer is buying.
